Feeding hornworms...

OK so I ordered hornworms for Rebel and they should be here on wednesday. I was reading about them and I read that they can bite and that some people clip off their little mouth parts to stop them from causing injuries to the chameleons. Rebel is aprox. 8 months old (veiled, male) so I was wondering if I really needed to cut off mouth parts before feeding the hornworm to him. I really hope I didn't waste my money on these worms....

Also, if they get too big to feed off what should I do with them? I read that you should never let them go outside because they can cause damage.

You dont have to. They can grab with their mouth, but I've never had it happen. If the chameleon grabs it by the head there should be no problems, and even if they grab it by the butt, it might just swing around a bit.
