A plastic container is fine if it is not clear plastic and if it is secured, because as you suggested, her toungue will stick to the plastic and likely move it.
I use ceramic bowles, mugs, and the like. Easy to wash, too heavy to get tipped over, too smooth for crickets to climb, choice of colours to match your cage (green, brown, etc)
If I am removing cricket legs, I just pinch/Squeeze the legs with my fingers, and the leg pops off.
(poor crickets)
when using clear cup, chameleon tends to shoot the side or the bottom of the cup instead of hunting from the top.

I just used dog nail clippers..

Not sure why you would do this.
I don't "clip" anything.
Is your enclosure not cricket proof? Is this why you're cup feeding?

i typically will do this for my box turtle...theyre WAY too fast!
