Feeding Cup?

Just wondering about a feeding cup..

I was wondering if a butter container (Plastic) will work for putting clipped crickets in there, so she can eat..

ANYWAYS.. . . .. I was just wondering, if her tongue will stick to the plastic?

A plastic container is fine if it is not clear plastic and if it is secured, because as you suggested, her toungue will stick to the plastic and likely move it.

I use ceramic bowles, mugs, and the like. Easy to wash, too heavy to get tipped over, too smooth for crickets to climb, choice of colours to match your cage (green, brown, etc)

idk how big your enclosure is but i use a milk jug that is cut up. (all that is left is the bottom and the handle) and i zip-tied it to the side of my guys cage.

(I also used aquarium safe silicon and put some fake leaves and vines around it so i dont have this big yellow thing chilling in the cage!)

What will be the diameter of the hole in the top of the cup? My veiled chameleon likes her cups to have larger holes in the top because sometimes she likes to sit on the cup stick and her head right into it to shoot at the crickets from a 1-2 inch distance.

Thank you everyone....

:) That answered my question, i am using the butter container, and she seems to not mind it, its rim is perfect width, for her to grip her lil hands around it, and she has a vine there, which she can sit on and Shoot her tongue :)

I have one more question..

What do you guys use to clip the legs of Crickets?

I just used dog nail clippers.. :p

Thanks! :rolleyes:cool:

Why not a clear cup? I use clear plastic and it works fine.

when using clear cup, chameleon tends to shoot the side or the bottom of the cup instead of hunting from the top.
they are not that bright :)

Not sure why you would do this.
I don't "clip" anything.
Is your enclosure not cricket proof? Is this why you're cup feeding?

Turtles aren't fast...;)

you'd be surpirsed! mine will SPRINT when i put his food down every morning...its an eastern which is typically carnivorous, but omnivorous, but boy does he love his supers, silks, horns, and especially earth worms. its nice to have these feeders and share them with him. he goes nuts and surprisingly can haul ass!
