Feeder Shipping

I'm about to order some feeders from Coastal Silkworms. Their website states that any shipping method over 2 days is non-refundable. I'm wanting the feeders to be shipped to my house within a day or two. I was wondering how you guys get them shipped.

I would have to drive 30 minutes away to get Priority Overnight. I'm not sure if regular Priority Mail will be delivered to my house, or if I'll have to pick it up from FedEx.

These are my choices:

Priority Overnight
Standard Overnight
Fedex 2 Day
Ground Home Delivery (2 days)
Priority Mail

Which method would be the best for 1-2 day delivery to my house?
Thanks guys.

i live in va and i've never ordered from them but i've ordered feeders from FL, CA, etc. i've gotten them in 2 days w/ priority from both sides of the coast. i'd pick from fedex 2 day or priority. i guess it depends on the cost and how good your post office is.

As long as the temps at your location arent crazy, they will ship just fine, however they will have grown quite a bit if shipped with food, so dont expect your babies to be babies when you get them. Mulberry Farms will place on hold on them at the Post Office so they dont BBQ inside a delivery truck when temps are extreme.

Ok thanks guys. :)

I live in KY. I'm going with Coastal this time, and Mulberry next. I'm only doing a small order of silks. Next time I'll probably be getting crix and bigger order of silks. Temps seem to be high 80's and even going into the 90's at certain points during the day. I went ahead and put my order through.

My Panther is still pretty young. I'm wanting to get him on roaches once he gets a bit bigger. My friend has a decent sized colony. They seem much easier to care for, and better for him gutload wise. I'd rather raise roaches and just keep buying the crickets.

I'm probably going to end up ordering Silks every month with crickets. Any tips on caring for them would be great. I'm not too sure on the best way to keep the bin clean. And I'm curious about the size of the bin. Does it need to be tall, or can I just use one of the short plastic storage bins? Lid or no lid?

Other than that I think I can handle it. I've done my research, but I like seeing examples. It gives me a more clear picture of what I need to do.

Shipping zones play a big role in delivery times. If I am shipping from Denver to Salt Lake City, Priority Overnight gets it there in one day.

But so does Ground shipping.

Check out this link for more info. You can enter the origination zip code, the destination zip code, and it will tell you the Guaranteed Delivery Time for all FedEx services, Overnight to Ground.

ShipYourReptiles Get Help section

That will narrow down your options, according to how quickly you need them.

And as a note, you can ship live reptiles with FedEx ONLY using their Priority Overnight service, no other service is allowed under their reptile shipping policy.

But you aren't talking about shipping reptiles : )

Thank you for the helpful information!

I actually used your site for the first time last week. I shipped an adult Veiled Chameleon, and I couldn't have done it without you guys. I spent all day trying to get my little guy shipped out. My father works at FedEx Ground, and he didn't even know how to help me. I called shipyourreptiles.com and everything went smoothly from there! Your services are truly the saving grace to our community. Thank you for what you do. :)
