Feedback on outside temp extremes

Evening All,

Throughout the past couple of months I have been able to take my Panther Chameleon outdoors during the weekends. Looking to the future, I have a couple of questions.

Let me preface this by saying I live in S. Louisiana, so spring to fall lasts 8 months at least and humidity is naturally high.

1. What are the temp extremes, especially on the high end. In the summer here, mid to high 90's are a normal thing but I am curious if that would still be acceptable for adults if they had shade in the cage to get to. I could also add shade cloth directly above them to block out high noon sun.

What about to cool in the daytime? If the high is say 75 degrees, is that too cool for them?

I could hook up the mister to the cages, so multiple mistings a day is a non issue.

I don't see the cool end being an issue as long as we stay above say 65 degrees at night.

2. Assuming temps are in order, any issues with leaving them out day and night for extended periods? The times I have taken him outside he does not seem very happy about it, I am guessing they will get used to it?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

A nice outside digital thermo will be your best friend.

90* is too hot for them to be out in full sun all day. That means in the straight sun there body temps will get out of this world. On days that are high 80's and above. I would give them morning and evening sun. Mid day i would cover the cage or bring them inside. If you do decide to keep outside and cover. Id give them long misting sessions during the peak temps of a day.

75* degree days are perfect.
