Fat Cham help?

Is there any ways to slim down ur Cham other than reducing her food? She is very fat (from what i can tell) and I originally thought it was because she was going to lay eggs, which she still is. It just didn't happen the last couple of days. She is still showing the signs of needing to lay, like the swelling between her front legs, but she hasn't layed yet. She is still growing so I'm a little hesitant to reduce her food but if I have to I will.

If she's making eggs you do not want to reduce her food now. Wait until after she's laid to adjust her food. You do want to minimize future egg production

Yes. You should read this blog post by Kinyonga on keeping females: http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.html

The "reader's digest" version is that they produce eggs when their bodies tell them it's a good time to do so...there's plenty of food, it's nice and warm, it's just perfect for making babies!! So, you want to keep things just shy of that, not "plenty of food" but "enough food" and not "nice and warm" but "warm enough".

You might still get eggs, but you should get smaller clutches of eggs.
