just wanted to make sure these are the signs that she is ready to lay.

1) decresed appetite
usually eats 6-8 crickets and 1 butter or silk worm
only eating 1 or 2 crickets a day now for 2 days
2)change in color
she is showing a lot of orange/brown on body
blueish/turquoise spots down spine
blueish/turquoise stripe on head
has been showing these colors for almost 3 weeks now
3) very active
keeps coming out of her cage to wander around/sit by the window
been going on for past 4 days

i am very anxious waiting for her to lay. nervous about her becoming egg-bound :(

mine laid eggs last week thank God and mine did the same thing you are welcome to look at my threads except mine stopped eaeating all together

Make sure you have a suitable place for her to dig in the cage...and when she starts digging, don't let her see you watching her or she will abandon the hole.

i have towels up around her cage and a laying bin with a mix of sand and coco fiber husk stuff. she does not seem at all interested in it though.

somwhat unrelated but i have a question. lately she's often darker colors on one side and light green and yellow on the other side? is this normal? what does it mean?

Sounds like she is basking - they lean their bodies away from the heat source and flatten their ribs to increase their surface area. This is more noticible in direct sunlight - the side nearest the sun will darken considerably to absorb the heat whilst the other side away from the sun remains lighter and more normal in colour.
