Obviously female to female will be different… But if I posted a picture of 5 different females from different locals you REALLY think you could tell me what they are? Or what about an unmarked WC shipment… You are saying that you can tell me which is a Nosy, which is an Ambilobe, ECT… I think not. However if you are talking about the subtle color differences between them then sure… They have that… But past that… They are the same.
jesus christ thats a female?
LMAO. I was about to comment on the size of Kents female as well. She's definitely a BIG Mama. haha.
i was referring to the color mostly but size too
I think what Chad was trying to say, is that there are of course differences from female to female, but that there is more variation within each locale than there is on whole between the different locales. Plus, females can look different from one day to the next.
There is more variation between females from the same region than there is from one region to the next...
Sorry Chad if that's not how you meant it. That's how i see it...
That's definitely not what was posted at the beginning of the thread. He simply stated "All girls look the same".
Thank you, I read that. I took it to mean, "Females don't have distinct colors/patterns that make them look different from females of other locales..."
He also makes a second post where he elaborates a bit and asks some questions that you should probably answer if you think he is wrong. Could you ID the locale of 5 random females by looking at them? Could you ID a bunch of WC females that all came together in a shipment?

....
Here's a question for you. Could you tell me where a specific CB MALE chameleon of whatever locale you want to identify came from? No you couldn't. Every panther chameleon is different in shape and or coloration.
BTW- it's unlike me to jump in with somebody like this, in fact, I actually don't like Chad at all... (sorry Chad). But I agreed with what he was saying and he was exiting the argument so i thought i'd pick it up and run with it.
Since none of you actually know the locales of the females you are examining for defining and unique characteristics, the rest is pointless. Again, since none of you collected your females from the wild yourselves, you can't even say that yours is an Ambanja female, or nosy be, ect... let alone say that "this is what a typical ambanja female looks like".
I'll say it again. None of you know the locale of your females. I don't care if it was supposedly WC from a particular place or if it was captive bred by the country's top chameleon breeder. You might think you have a "pure" pair of Ambilobes and you're going to produce "pure ambilobies", but that is a joke and it shows that you don't understand much about speciation, capture and transport of exotic reptiles, and human nature.
Has anyone ever read "the complete chondro" by Greg Maxwell? You "purist" cham people could learn a hell of a lot from that book.
