Hi Justin,

In order for the experienced keepers and breeders to help you, they need to know a bit about your chameleon, and when you first observed this injury and under what circumstances it has come about. How long has his eye been shut?

The board can help you more if you fill out the information on the following link: https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/

A veterinarian with chameleon experience will also be able to help you, when in doubt it's best to go to the vet with these guys.

He may be dehydrated. Mist him 2-3 times a day, also try giving him a shower, put a plant in the shower and aim the shower head to bounce off the wall and itll mist on him. See if that works.

Most of the keepers here will advise that your enclosure be of the Screen type or something to allow good air flow...Moisture will breed bacteria which could be or will be a problem for your Cham....

The next Big Questions would be what type of Chameleon (cham) you have....I have a Jackson Chameleon which would require much differrent care from say panthers. ( I think)

If your cham is dehydrated, the luke warm shower will be a good way of getting some water. In addition to a drip system, I use a spray bottle where I will mist the chams until they are drinking...ussually first thing in the am and after they have eaten. some times it takes about 2 min some times it is about 5....but I make sure to mist at least 2 to 4 or 5 times per day...You may also consider worms to (silk I think) or some other foods that are higher in water content than crickets.

You may also need to check this sight for advice on supplementation and why captive chams need it...there is also good advice on how much and how often..

since your Cham was at the Pet store, check to see if there was a compact florecent bulb ( the curly light bulb kind), as there have been many accounts of eyeproblems from other keepers.

the Humidity in shanghai is up there today...

start there and keep reporting back

He's one beautiful looking fella. Hopefully his eye comes around. If it doesn't come around with misting, I recommend bringing him to the vet for antibiotics.

Thanks a lot for your care

Thanks a lot for your care,I wanna know the scale of the wanter and salt(what's kind of the salt? eating salt is OK?
You can also try flushing his eye with saline solution. Saturate a cotton ball with it and squeeze it onto his eyelid. Be very gentle.

New report

My chameleon had egest this morning, but the egesta is wet,not dry.also smell is terrible. After egest, his left eye is open. Then climb the branch to bask

Looks like you need to go to the vet with your little sample there.

Your Chameleon may have a parasite. Keep trying to hydrate your cham and get him to the VET as soon as possible. ....
