eyes closed after laying

I can remember what Lily's eyes were like when she was poorly. It's just awful to see. I still have everything crossed for you both.

Her eyes look sad(some people might not get that)but to me she looks sad,i understand when people talk about how fast they can go downhill, how long can she go on like that????

Howdy Ronnie,

It sounds like your vet is doing what needs to be done. She's laid a full clutch of eggs in the past and you've had a laying bin available for her again this time. There's always the possibility of a couple of eggs being fused together and blocking things :(. Time will tell... Good luck and hang-in there.

No digging today, her lights are out for the night(she went into the laying bin last night after lights out)so i'm hoping she may go down into it again, any ideas about leaving a dim light on in the room??(her tank is covered up)I contacted the vets this afternoon and he said he's willing to make a house call to save her the stress of making the trip to see him again, say a prayer for my girl tonight

Ronnie, I just saw this thread....I have been working allot. I sure hope she will be ok. My thoughts are with you. Jann

She is still with us this morning,i thought she might have passed away in the night as i watched her and in the early hours she opened her mouth really wide and shook her head from side to side and her tongue came out,but after sitting still for a while she started to climb again,i don't know what today will bring,i don't want her to be in pain, shes due a 3rd shot of oxytocin at lunch time today, the vets coming to the house,i have also put a second laying bin with just peat moss in with her(the first one has a mix of sand and peat moss)dripper on and have covered her up,how long is it right to leave her like this????

Hi Ronnie,

I'm no expert, but the hardest thing that you need to do is just leave her alone all day.
I know you wana check on her often, but try and not disturb her.

with the cage covered up, I see no reason not to have a little light on durring the night...like a small lamp across the room.

I wish you the best of luck.

Harry

Ronnie my heart is breaking for you. i am going through the same thing with my little Tuffy but no vet available. I an hoping and praying things will come around. Sorry I haven't posted sooner, this is just too close to home for me.
