My chameleon isn’t keeping one eye closed. He is continuing close the eye and open it again. Also is just keeping it closed. He’s being do this for about 40 seconds. Is this a normal thing? Could he have poked his eye with something?

From what I do know about chameleon eyes, multiple things could be going on. I would mist him gently, not too directly, and then I would probably take him to the veterinarian for a checkup. Checkups never hurt. Maybe someone else will have a better solution for the time being.

I would give him some extra long mistings with warm water and see if he can clean his eye out. If he continues to close it after that then get it checked out by a vet.

Thank you for the reply camryn. I’m going to give it a few days to see if he can get it out himself and I’ll gently mist him him for longer. If he cant I’ll be sure to take him to the vet.
