Eye worry

Not sure I am officially asking for help yet as much as just thoughts and I know a vet visit is in order if this turns into a problem. So I adopted a new panther today and he is about 20 months old. When I picked him up everything was great and I spent about an hour at the persons home before leaving. Once home I set up his cage 2x2x4 and I put him in and everything seems great. I left for a few hours and came back and checked on him and all is good so I leave him alone again so I don't stress him out. I just checked on him now right before lights off and he is in sleep ready position with one eye open and one eye closed. The lights are still on so that makes me concerned. He does open it if he sees me with his other eye and it seems fine...no crust or bulging. My plan is to let the lights go off check him in the morning and hope all is good. He did not eat when we got home and I offered everything but I am thinking that he is stressed as well. Just wanted to see everyone's thoughts. Also sorry for the terrible explanation put typing on my phone gets frustrating lol

He's had a big day. He probably needs a lights out and a long nap. If it persists then let us know. Good luck.

Don't be surprised if he does not eat for awhile. Being 20 months old he was very used to his old habitat and routine with the previous owner. His little world has been turned upside down. I have told this story many times, but a chameleon I took in from another member(at 4 yrs old) did not eat for 11 days with me. I was so worried, but then one day he just started eating and then ate like a pig! I have also seen my chameleons go to sleep sometimes before it is completely dark. I would not worry just yet and give him time to settle in.

Thanks that helped because he is really not eating but I thought that would happen. I did see him eat a superworms but he didn't fire at it he kids walked up to it and ate it....a few days to settle in and I hope he will be good
