EYE ROLL - I dont love my Chameleons

I have a roommate who made a bold and ignorant claim.

When discussing Coza and her health stuff and how she is an randomly to me, my roommate said it's probably because I don't handle her enough. I told her that chameleons are not play pets, and I personally like to leave them alone unless I have to weigh them (which I should do more) or maybe some sun time (also should probably do more). She refused to believe that "any animal doesn't need love and affection."

Tell that to a ******* tiger.

I'm so annoyed. The nerve to imply I dont love my animals.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::mad:

Ignorant people gonna be ignorant . Your roommate would be the type of person to kill their chameleon with too much handling and stress, the one who'd post a pic of their cham sleeping on them saying "AWW LOOK HOW COMFY HE IS"

I understand the feeling. My wife still can't see why I like Ezekiel. She tries to compare him to our dogs. But then I say that my chameleon doesn't get hair all over me when I'm about to leave for work and scratch my arms all up jumping on me when I get home.

I think of him as living art.

Dude I am having issues with this very thing lol. Well someone saying don't handle and the handling being hard lol.

I was trying to let my guy get some sun. He doesn't much care for me, for whatever his reasons are lol.

Anyway I haven't weighed him in a long time either. I'm working outside today, it's nice enough in the sun, I have an outside cage, figured I'd let him have some outside time. And weigh him.

He was noping out of that. Got him to walk into my hand, which is always a challenge. And he decided to crawl on to my neck. Asked the wife for help, she hoped said he shouldn't come out, leave him alone lol. I told her I have to weigh him and get him some sun.

She nope. Not touching him, he is mad.

Turned into a 30 minute fiasco, of him using me like a jungle gym. Never got him weighed or outside, or even to sit still for 2 secs, he just ran all over me lol. Which furthered my wife's claim, of "Leave him alone".

I only handle mine to transport them to the lanai for free-range time, so I guess I don't love mine either (though there's a 7 hour tattoo of one of them on my arms). However, when one gets up my arm to the back of my head and I ask my hubby for an assist I usually get a side-eye and backtracking!
