my chameleon has one eye closed. he is in his sleep spot cuz its close to bed time but he usually looks around and stuff and i caught him with just one eye closed for a little while then he was alert again. and now thats hes sleeping his eye looks like its black. should i be concerned? whats wrong? it just started happening.

How big are the crickets?

You're smart to be concerned early. I would say that one time is not necessarily a problem, but you need to record what happened so if a pattern develops you'll have that information.

I'm sure others will have more thoughts.

well they are about almost an inch, but they are smaller then the grasshopers he has been eating. but he has been slowing down on the eating, i just dont know if its cuz hes slowed down on growing. he used to eat about 15 a day but up until 3 weeks ago its been like 6 a day.hopefully hes fine tomorrow

Okay so everything looks okay so my question is how close is he getting to the lights... and have you tried a shower... Sometimes they will get stuff in their eyes and water helps them rinse it out...

If they are an inch, they sound like full grown crickets to me. I would feed something smaller. JMO

well this morning his eye looked okay there seemed to be nothing wron but i"ll keep an eye on it. i use repcal by the way and it not cool near the window at nights. maybe he was just slightl dehydrated? i gave him some water before bed time last night and he drank it. maybe that fixed the problem.
