Eye is bulging please help!

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled, male, 2.5 months, I had him for a week now
Handling - Haven't handled him in a few days
Feeding - small crickets and large fruit flies from tikitiki, crickets about 5-10 sometimes he doesn't eat all 10- feed him in the morning but if he doesn't eat much in the morning I try again later in the afternoon. I gut load by giving them fresh veggies the night before.
Supplements - Rephasy calcium plus daily (as chad recommended)
Watering - I have a drip system. I mist about 4-5 times a day for about 2 minutes. Yes, I see him drinking
Fecal Description - He didn't defecate today but yesterday dark brown and white. Has not been tested for parasites.
History - Got him from tikitiki a week ago

Cage Info:
Cage Type - screen cage, 16x16x30
Lighting - reptisun 5.0 from 8 am to 8 pm ( have it set to a auto timer)
Temperature - 75-83 degrees. Lowest overnight = low 70s, analog thermometer from petco. I have a basking light but haven't been using it because the uvb light makes his cage on average 80 degrees and my room doesn't have drastic temperature changes during the day.
Humidity - 50-60 range. I mist and measure with a humidity gauge from petco
Plants - ficus and pothos
Placement - in my room, on a table that is about 2.5 feet from the floor. no heavy traffic and not near any vents and i'm not running the a/c or heater anyways.
Location - southern california

Current Problem - He seemed fine all day today and a few hours ago I found his right eye to be bulging when he closes it to blink (reminds me of a stress ball, when you squeeze one area it bulges in a different spot). He is also blinking quite frequently. His left eye seems to be functioning normally. Does anyone have an ideas as to what's going on??

sounds like your doing everything just right try getting a squirt bottle fill it with warm/luke water and gently squeeze a little in his eye and ever so gently try to massage it after you squirt the eye and repeat and see how he does and if it progresses and gets worse he may need a vet

You're taking great care of him! Like he said some lukewarm water and a nice soft massage may help, if not a quicky to the vet might be an option. Hope all goes well :)

Thank you, it really helps to know that I'm doing things right. I'm super paranoid since he's my first reptile so I want to make sure I'm doing everything right. He's just so tiny and fragile
Do you guys think I should do it now or wait until tomorrow morning when he's awake??

My veiled eyes did the same when I placed her in a ficus tree, I wasn't sure of an infection or not. Very nasty looking and I was very concerened but it is slowly clearing up and it doesn't seem to bother her:) I will never buy ficus for my chameleon again.

It's a little late for my opinion now haha but I recommend once he's awake. Waking a chameleon up from their sleep can get kinda nasty, at least mine will be pretty upset.

It wouldn't be to do with the ficus, I have ficus and weeping fig in nearly all of my vivs and have never had a problem

I have had a similar issue. Rare occasions I mist my male veiled one if his eyes will bulge up real big and he blinks hard and when he opens It theres something red over his eye. after a few blinks it works itself to normal sometimes 5 min. Is this similar to what uve seen? I relate mine to water getting in there.

Side note. Is wat I described bad? I try to not directly spray especialky in the face but sometimes things happen

Update

As of this morning, it is no longer bulging BUT now he keeps his eyes closed for a few seconds at a time and now it is BOTH eyes. I did give him a longer shower to make sure the water flushes the eyes a bit (I used luke warm filtered water) He also only ate one cricket :(

His eyes seem clear to me when they are open. No signs of discharge or crud.

Sometimes the little ones eyes are sensitive to new, strong lights. Try raising the light up higher off the cage. Is there away you can get him some outside time? Not in the direct sun but natural UVB is excellent for chams.

just try upping the temps a litttttle bit but and see how it goes if its worse or the same by friday/saturday i would say take him to a vet

If it's warmer tomorrow I'll take him out and see if that makes him feel any better. But it looks like it's going to be low 70's. If he doesn't look better in the next couple of days I'm going to take I'm in to see a vet.
