Eye colouration

I put a rubbish post on this a while ago but did not have access to a camera, I just wanted to show this eye coloration change and query whether this is normal and whether anyone could hazard what it might be indicating.

He has only just started doing it and its usually when he is very active in the cage or when we put the cage outside in the sun... Hunting perhaps?

Do you have a female? Or can he see any other animals.

The eye coloration looks like love me colors or possibly some war paint.

No females... (though if I had the space I would love one.) He does do a funny sort of juddering dancing type movements when he is like that. Might be threatening... or wooing his reflection?!

so he is bobbing his head? Something has tickled his fancy.

males display those colors when they are excited and want to mate or see another male and want to fight.
