Point and shoots usually take better macros because the size of their sensors. Magnification is easier when you are capturing it on a smaller sensor.
DSLR have larger sensors, so unless you have a Macro lens(1:1 ratio), Extension Tubes or a lens reversing ring, you will not be able to get close-ups like most P&S's.
