Exoterra compact light Q?!?

So I had to do an expensive emergency cage swap for baby Kai today. I've had him not even a week and have decided he was way to small for his big boy cage. He was always in his Goth attire and I swear I wasn't the one listening to Bauhaus recently on my iPod, so I figured he was too cold. I ended up with an exoterra glass viv 18x18x24. After months of monitoring temps and RH before arrival (both of which were almost impossible to keep up in my dry cold house)I decided to do what the ones on the other side of the pond do!
I was a bit upset tho to see I couldn't use an incandescent bulb higher than 26W  You've got to be joking right?!?! Ugh! So wth am I supposed to do besides buy exoterra bulbs that do nothing for heat?! Sorry just irritated since each friggin bulb is no less than $15. What do any of you fellow cold weather exo users use? Right now I just have 2 of the 5.0 UVB in the 2 sockets and for heat Im using his old big dome with a 40W (which needs to be replaced with a 60W tomorrow). I really just wanted to use the 2 sockets for a UVB and 1 regular heat bulb. Is this possible without spending a million bucks? Please help with any advise, Thank You

Halogen spots are good for producing high basking spots with lower ambient temps.

With my female in her exo terra I used a single gu10 50w on a dimmer switch, they're similar to halogen spots. They are rather small bulbs so halogen or gu10 could be an option depending on the size of the cham :D

Edit: if going with halogen floods go for a lower wattage because a single 60w at a distance of 1foot can produce basking temps of 160f
