Exo-Terra Terrarium

Wanting to buy a large tall exo-terra terraium.
PT2609 Large/X-Tall 90 x 45 x 90 cm 36” x 18” x 36” (WxDxH)
I am wanting to grow live plants and thinking about housing a chameleon as well. I have a few questions. I am going to buy a canopy lighting which can hold 4 seperate lightbulbs. If I am growing plants and having a chameleon what 4 lightbulbs would I want? Also what else do you think I should buy? Rain machine? Heating Rock? Ect. Thanks!

I recommend you get a T5 Quad fixture with 1 UVB bulb (6% Arcadia) and 3 6.5k Daylight bulbs. That would be the ideal setup for what you are looking to do.

I have the exact same cage you are looking to get. If you want, shoot me a PM and I can give you some recommendations on how to set it all up.

that size is too small for the most commonly kept chameleons, though some might suggest you may be able to keep a female panther in it, but I wouldn't. A smaller type chameleon like a pyg would be better. However you'd have to watch the heat, especially with that many lights. Edit: is it screen or glass?

You don't need 4 lights for plants nor chameleons. Not all plants are safe for chameleons either.
no heat rock - chameleons are not ground animals, they get their heat from basking in the sun.

Sounds like you need to do some basic learning about chameleon care needs before proceeding.

Can you send me that same link. I have the exact same cage. That cage is great. All my Chameleons that have passed through that cage all love it. It works well in creating an extremely tropical enviroment.

very proud!

Thank you guys! Im very proud of it, all my own idear and mostly my design, I love building things with my dad and after we managed to find and buy some suitable sized mesh too keep the feeders In but will let in sunlight (I know it'll be no benefit throw the window, but he likes it) we found all the rest around the house/garage :) and the rope from an old gardean swing. Mesured up and built it, upcycling! eveything is covered so no sharp bits and it just drops onto the lip inside like the lid did :D hoping he'll be more comfortable with this as his adult cage as you can see my ceiling will not allow me to go any bigger lol thanks for your comments

settled in!

Wel after my little guy moved into his new tank he shed almost strait away and was extra grumpy lol but now he's had a little while to settle in (while not shedding) he looks happier and healthier than he has in ages. his colours are lovely and bright and hes much more active with more space still loves to come out but much happier about going back in :) when he's happy im happy!!! Xx
