Excessive? or not?

I think you are "assuming" alot here. Not wanting to argue or anything.
Like you mention, its kids that dont get attention that rebal. He obviously keeps track of his daughter to some extent. A parents job is to toughen their kid up to some socially exceptable standard. How else is the kid going to know how to act when they get to the real world? Where the competition is cold, and ruthless?

Oh totally understand what you're saying..;), but with that attitude? Seriously? He looks just like a joke of human being to me.. Just a personal opinion:)

Oh, and by the way, my dad never fired bullets at my lap top, even thou both my parents were quiet straight, I learned more things that way.:D

Employees bash their bosses on FB all the time and guess what they're adults. They can't get fired because its water cooler talk. They're not going to get in trouble for it. The lesson this girl is learning is to hate her parents more. Because at that age the girl could emancipate herself and move out. Is that what parents really want? We were never made to do chores at my house. Everyone would clean when it was cleaning time not just the girls. Kids aren't you personal slaves. Making coffee everyday give me a f'ing break. And she wasn't complaining to him she was venting on FB. The same way he is venting.

Total redneck thing to do: I have a gun let me shoot something.

:plol yes it was a redneck thing to do.
But in the vid he states shes only made to do simple chores around the house. Neither of them state that just females are being made to do chores. I agree, the girl was obviously just venting in her way. The issue is that she was publicaly disrespecting her parents, by lying about how she is treated. She even talked down on a "cleaning lady" that the dad says is a hard working woman, that cleanes for an "exchange of services"(whatever that means, maybe IT help?)
If a kid wants to vent thats one thing. She obviously has got a big head on her, and the sooner she learns her place in the world, the better off she will be. That goes for everyone.
I would never bash someone on FB. I think that is a very childish thing to do. I simply go up to my employer, and discuss any issues, like an adult.
These "adults" you speak of are exibiting the exact behavior that this dad is trying to deter.
Just because someone is an adult, or over 18 or 85, doesnt mean they display exceptable behavior.
I just cant understand why anyone would "secretly" whine about something, instead of having the gumption to stand up and do somthing about it.
That kind of behavior IMO is neither personally or socially healthy.

Well, I really dont mean to have an additude about it:p
Im not saying the guy handled it perfectly. I dont think it was excessive either. He was trying to be funny, and get the respect he felt he lost back. Wether he succeeded or not;)

Mine niether! Everyone is going to come from a different place though, and have different things work for them. Cant judge someone for that.

David, I meant that guy attitude! :D I see your point.. Sorry I really have strong opinions about things!! Anyway It's their problem.. It was interesting to see something different from what I have experienced.. I think I'll call my dad later on just to tell him how much I love him!:p

LoL! Oh sry:eek:
Its good to have strong opinions!;)

Hope no one got the wrong idea, or felt attacked.:(
Just wanting to share my opinions, and have others share and explain theirs. We arent all going to see eye to eye, but we can still learn from each other.

LMAO! at calling your dad!:p

Funny stuff.

Maybe that's exactly the sort of thing his daughter needed to see/have done to her to start behaving more responsibly and sensibly? Sometimes kids and parents alike are crazy.

Apple doesnt fall far from the tree!:D

Seems like He just wanted some attention, and now he got it. What a hillbilly :D .

People are strange, it'll be a nice day on earth when humans are extinct.

Actually , I work at Walmart and we were told that if we bash Walmart on FB , Myspace ( not that anyone uses that one anymore ... lol ) , Twitter , etc . , we can be fired because of something called " The Social Media Law " . Personally , I think that's against freedom of speech , but it's what we were told . Whether it's true or not , I don't know . But if I'm going to get fired , it's not going to be because of postings ... it's going to be my temper .... lol . I've heard of people getting fired from jobs for doing such . Personally , if I'm mad at my boss I don't vent online ... I handle it ( albeit not so calmly most of the time ) right on the spot .

I bet half of you that are not happy about him shooting the laptop are also for strict gun laws.....

How exactly can you all say he has neglected his daughter and the problems before this? He clearly stated that it happened before and he handled it differently. Also, if she was "blocking" the post from her parents, that means they check up on it which means checking up on her... right?

I forgot who posted it.. but someone said people like him shouldn't have kids in the first place... SAY WHAT!!? for what? Because he is a little bit country (like myself) has a gun, and has a stutter when speaking? Wow.. honestly dont know how someone can think like that from one video. You know NOTHING about him other than the video. How can you make a statement like that?

I think people are getting caught up on the shooting part for all the wrong reasons. He was going for impact. It's one thing to have your parents take away your computer, it's another thing to watch it be destroyed. It carries more impact.

I don't think people would be as touchy about it if he'd run it over with his car, or torched it, or thrown it off a cliff. Whatever the method, I bet you the result worked. I guarantee you she won't be disrespectful again, and will take her parents at their word more often.
