18x18x18 terrarium or open Screen?!?! My new Senegal Cham has to be inside on my desk next to my bed im worried about him being cold and or the humidity. He is currently in an aquarium so im trying to act fast. I have a repti glo 5.0 compact and a 25w heat lamp. What one should I act on?

Screen is best. Aquariums are no good. The exo-terras or zoomed front opening glass tanks with screen tops and front vent under the door are okay. If u can get a fan blowing NEAR it even better. There is controversy with 5.0 compacts. I recommend 5.0 tube lights (long). And 25w can be okay just make sure hot spot Is no more than 90-95 for adult 83-87 for youngins. With a cooler area of 72-76. Humidity. Drippers are good. Cascade the dripps down leafs they dont drink standing water in a bowl. mist a lot with a bottle or automated system, 2-3 times a day. Let the water dry between missing to prevent mold and fungus. And drainage Is very difficult with glass. Under cage pans or tubes in screen is much easier and screen cages are cheaper.. amazon.com pen plaxx hd screen cage 24x24x48 is a thing of beauty. Low cost all screen with a plexiglass door for good veiwing. Make sure u research ur vitamin and feeder options. Gutloading brown crickets and dusting with repAshy is very popular and effective.

Hope this helped. It's a basic description. I could fill pages with thorough husbandry explanations.

Never stop researching u will always find something new and interesting and different views on everything. Decide what u like best and run with it.

Your temps should be no problem i would just up your bulb wattage to a 40 watt with a reflector hood to increase the basking temps also make sure the bulb is elevated up off the cage cause they can and will burn your cham. As for the cage i would also go with a screen cage with lots of plants. Real plant will help maintain the humidity but will require repotting with organic soil to remove all fertalizers from the soil and then rocks or some type of covering should be used over the soil to prevent your cham from eating it and becoming impacted. You will want to get some way to mist your cham be it a hand spray bottle,New Pestacide sprayer from home depot/Lowe " what i use" or a complete misting system ex Mistking/Aquazamp. Hope this help you out abit.:)

Dont be sorry! Just letting you know ;)

I personally recommend pothos as a plant. It grows super fast, is next to impossible to kill, holds drinking water, and gives lots of areas to climb on.

Re-potting plants in an organic pesticide/fertilizer/chemical free soil is ideal.
They could potentially eat the chemicals in the soil, or the plant, and the chemicals could harm them.
