Eustis The Jackson’s Xanthalophus

OH my gosh what a dream! Did you see any jacksons? We will be going there next year and I am excited go to herping.
:( I didn’t and I looked all over! I’ve heard that there are hiking spots in Waikiki where people have seen a ton but i unfortunately didn’t get to go hiking I was just looking around everywhere we went. I really wish I got to see one in the wild but maybe next time! You’ll definitely have to update me if you end up finding any next year, Hawaii has so many cool reptiles!

I will share with you what I find!

The reptile room is almost complete! This is how eustis’s cage is currently looking but I plan to add more foilage so don’t worry 😆

This is eustis’s final build 😁 might add some sticks here and there, and if anyone has any suggestions throw them out! There’s 4 pothos all of them are different kinds, and a Swiss cheese plant! Eustis should arrive next weekish and I’m excited to update you all 😁

I think it looks great! Once he is in there I’m sure you’ll find little adjustments that may suit him better. Or at least that’s how things always go with me. How are temps for him at night? Do you have an AC unit in that room?
Yes you’re totally right 😁. I was able to get it down to 67 and with the fogging I’m sure ittl drop to 64-65 but I’ll be looking into getting an ac unit so I can drop it even lower!!

That’s fantastic! Ya an AC unit will get you a good temp drop at night.

Little boy is so much smaller than I had expected but enjoy these photos of him exploring his new home. @Lindasjackson did such a wonderful job at taking care of him for the last 3 years or so. I’m so grateful for this opportunity to rehome such a sweet chameleon and help an amazing and sweet person out so they can fully focus on their health🫶❤️

@Lindasjackson said…”When I lived in Cali a long time ago I had a day gecko and a house gecko who liked to bark at night!”…fat tailed geckos bark too…they sound a lot like a seal. There are also barking geckos.

I think most geckos can vocalize …up to a point.

If anyone is going to Hawaii you might like to see this and get in touch with Mary…Mary used to post on this forum but I don’t think she’s been on here for years now.
