I was wondering if having red/blotchy skin reactions to a chameleon crawling all over your arm was the norm, but unlike yours, mine didn’t days to heal. Ouch if you try to take Eustis out again soon, maybe you can try to get him on a stick instead of your arm? Spare your poor skin. Definitely a scaredy little guy! Sounds to me like him digging into your skin was him saying “oh nooo I don’t know if I like this,” haha.He has acclimated to me some in that he will take a wax worm from my hand but that’s it. I took him outside to sit on a tree a couple weeks ago and he dug my arm with his claws and my arm swelled and I had red welts. I’m a pretty allergic person so I think I had an allergic reaction to his scratches. I had to let that settle and it’s taken a couple weeks for it to go away. I think if I could take him outside on a regular basis he would stop being so aggressive with his claws.
Here’s to many anniversaries for you and Eustis!
