End of Tail looks weird...Help

I'm going to try and take my chameleon to the special exotic animals clinic when i get the chance.

The tails been worrying me because I've never seen it like this. I thought he was shedding but it looks dry and bumpy.

Does anyone have any experience/advice before i go to the doctors?

He gets feed superworms, crickets and gets watered. Vitamin D, D3, multi

Veiled Chameleon, 3 Years old, Male, I've had him since he was 5 months.
I rarely handle my chameleon.

He lives in a cage, 2x3/4 feet

his tail looks fine.

I dont see anythng wrong with it.

Did he maybe not shed the end of his tail?

Deffinatly looks like a stuck shed. i would try spraying it with warm water and see if it loosens up at all. rubbing gently with a moist Q-tip might help also.

Edit- Could he possibly have burnned it by being to close to the heat lamp? thats another possibility.

DEFINITELY keep an eye on it, this is similar to what my boy's tail looked like before it became Completely necrotic. It looks like it may be a burn but I would take him to a certified chameleon vet asap. If it is starting to get a fungal infection they may be able to save it with silvadene cream, here is a picture of before we amputated my boy's tail.

Please take him to the vet. This may be everything, an old shed as well as a fungus. A vet experienced in chameleons' therapy should have a look at this tail. Don't try ointments or cremes at home before, you need to have a proper diagnosis.

Yes I will, tomorrow.

Another thing i think might be it, i see red on his tail. I think he has bit his tail,
and he doesn't curl his tail around branches.

I was reading that chameleons vision might impair? He's always trying to eat me, by my movements and I just thought he was always hungry...

How would I go searching for a chameleon expert? I live in Miami, FL.
Do i just go to an exotic pets vet? That's the only place I know. Unless there's a user on here who might be a vet near me.

here is a link for vets. I did not go through the whole thing to see if there is one in Miami. I have a very nice and knowledgeable vet in West Palm Beach. I know it is a drive but I do recommend him if you cannot find one in your area. We have members down that way so hopefully someone will see this. If you want start another thread, "Looking for Vet in Miami Area" and I am sure you will get a resonse. Good luck! BTW are you gutloading your crickets and superworms? If so, with what? That could be some of your problem if it does turn out to be a vitamin A deficiency with his eyesight.
