Encouraging him to drink

I have a drip system for Pop-Tart. I also mist several times a day. His urate is yellow though, and I'm concerned. I tried to give him some vegetables that I had lightly misted, but apparently he's not a vegetable fan. He has live plants that I ocassionally notice him nible on. I've also seen him lick some water from the drip area here and there. How can I persuade him to drink more? I'd be really heart broken if something were to happen to him.

My chameleon heavily prefers fruit, if you want to try that. Strawberries are one of his favourites. Just try to keep his terrarium/cage misted and wet as much as you can so he can drink off his leaves.

Sounds like your on the right track. How long are your misting sessions? For hydration, you also might try cultured hornworms from a supplier.

I don't have access to hornworms. I have no local supplier, and shipping is 3x as much as the worms. I mist by hand about a 1/2 liter each hr.

Thats great, how often do u see his yellow urate?as far as I know, the urate will not be white color all the time,do u think he is dehydrated when u looking at him?

He appears healthy; but I'm also not a vet, or a chameleon expert, so my opinion could be wrong. His urate has been yellow for a few days now. I hoped it was just a short bout of stubbornness, but I guess not. Perhaps it's a failure on my end. I don't gut load his crickets prior to feeding.

I have no where to store them other than my room. I'm an extremely light sleeper so they keep me up all night. So, I buy just the amount he eats, and feed him in the morning so they're gone by bed time. I've tried keeping them and feeding them but I literally didn't sleep for 2 days.

This was yesterday.

Please dont be hard on urself,I will suggest keep up the misting ,things should be getting improved, and if u think he is not drinking enough,u can always misting him longer or more often.
