i have them in my ficus so my female wont dig up the roots..shes forced to dig in her usuall 5 gallon bucket instead...my chams have to be functional as well as beautiful..LOL
I have them covering my 4 pothos right now, kink has never tried to eat the dirt, but why chance it?
what type of chams do you have?

p.s. VeiledChams you are a master..i know that you have had plenty of sucsess with glass and approve of it..all im saying is that i personally dont agree with glass (you no why, lol) but as for that i figure with a begginner, its just better to get set up the best most widley sucsessful way first then variate from there from personal preference while still maintaining healthy chameleons..so dont be pissed at me, cause i still look at you for answer on some stuff..so dont shun me for my hate of glass..LOL)
hahaha, naah.. I'm no master.. I use screen cages outside, and have had some in glass. The thing I wanted to make sure the OP got straight is that it IS ACCEPTABLE for someone to use a glass terrarium. That is the only thing I wanted to say.
To the OP.. Please fill this form out so any other aspect of your husbandry can be scrutinized in order for everyone else to make sure you are giving your cham the proper husbandry. Take your time and answer each as best you can..copy and pasted it:

ok just for you GLASS IS ACCEPTABLE HOWEVER..INMO i tend to focus more towards SCREEN CAGING..
p.s. dont lie..pretty much on here when you have an opinion on somthing (not ego driven, nor "just cause you like it") it means that you have vast experience in it....at least from what i have observed..i think they have a word for that..its called master..LMAO
how you like them apples...

i forced myself down to 2 chameleons (un-freaking-believeable lol) decided to spend all my time on breeding some good ambilobe bloodlines (blue bar to be specific, i like the pattern)..so i thinned out my collection ALOT..
heres my you tube...

Babies! OMG. this is bad. I may end up having to get a baby from you. I love the panthers. Seriously, addicted to chams right now. It's all Kink's fault, and everyone on this forums fault too. I get one, say ok, i have one, im good now. then i see all the differnt kinds i can get, and see how exciting it is to watch their colors come in. oy.hahah..thats gotta be a weird commercial!! LOL
as for those chamillies i havent seen them yet..well if you end up waiting long enough, i will have some lil ones in like 9 months or so (but never wanna count my chickies before the eggs hatch!!)

ive always thought this :
"chameleons are like crack, they will be all good while you go broke, but at least you get to keep your teeth" LMAO
HAHAHA! I love it! I swear, i worry more about my cham. I have had him since he was 2 weeks (I know, too young) and i kid you not i look in on him everyday at least 10 times a day.
WHen I got him, and i saw that everyone on this forum bred crickets, or bought in bulk, I told myself I would never keep that many crickets in my house.
Now, 7 months later.... i have a ten gallon tank filled with 2000 crickets. in the fridge are mealworms and waxworms, and sitting on the counter are calciworms. I have more crap for the cham than I do myself. NTM, i am making my sig other build Kink his big boy cage. When I asked him to do it, he looked at me like id just sprouted a second head with 3 eyes or something.
hahaha..sounds like everyone on here (or at least everyone that knows what the hell they are doing)lol..
just remember you are not crazey..im not crazey..they are chameleons, not fast emotionless lizards..they look you in the eye..they are different and deserve to be treated as so (a few other exceptions as well are out there, lizard wise)..but i purposefully have only this pair now so i dont look crazey..thus why i need it even more organized, clean, wires hidden, cleaner insect breeding shelves(possibbly lockable, and smoked color to hide contents)..lol...
2000 crix are nothing....i really must be crazey!!!![]()
I know enough to keep my cham happy, but I sure as hell dont know everything, I learn something new everyday from this site. I love it. I creep the site off and on throughout the day. I am crazy, I have a dog, cat, ferret, 75 gallon fish tank, turtle, Kink the cham, and 2000 crickets, worms.
they are very different, Kink is my first reptile. I am the crazy animal woman with all my friends, and i dont care.
I plan on overhauling kinks cage once i have his adult cage built, hes currently in his baby cage still, sad, but what has to happen right now.
I plan on building an enclosure to hide the bucket ill need for drainage, cuz im gonna buy a misting system, and to hide the damn crickets, cuz as much as i need them, people see them and think im crazy. the looksi get from the people at fedex when i go to pick up my order of crickets from mulberryfarms, is priceless.
not that crazey..dont wanna know my list..heres a short one..
green tree frogs, leopardgeckos, praying mantids, stick insects, crickets, mealworms, waxworms, salt water reef tank with mantis shrimp, fresh water tank with puffer fish (yollow spotted, reverse pattern), uromastyx, free range bearded dragon, various chameleons (at one time had 17 chameleon cages with breeding pairs, some trios(montane species)), sulcatta's, red ear sliders (my sis still has one i hatched from 13 years ago!!lol shes huge and makes unfertile eggs all the time..not my sis the turtle, LMAO), ok i'll stop here..i could keep goin too..LOL
Guys..not to be a PITA.. but you just took over the OP's thread![]()
you did too..haha you started it!!
p.s. i have an orchid mantis rite now love her!!
