When she diggs, she has dug in a pot made of building foam. You now the compact foam.. and she has dug straight down into this. Found her covered with it the whole body , and inside the eye.
Her eyes are closed , and a bit swollen.

Sprayed her with some water and she sees alot better.
What to do. I want her to stop digging there cause its not a good place.
I turned the egglaying container away from the front door so she feels more secure when digging.

Any thoughts?

please help
David

well heres what i would do. GET RID OF THE FOAM IN THE CAGE.

then try to take some contact lens solution (saline) and flush its eyes out with a dropper.

Definitely get rid of the foam as Spence said above. If you are afraid to flush the eyes you could try a nice long shower.

In the info it says compact 5.0. If that is what you are using go buy a florescent linear tube UVB, preferably a reptisun 5.0, immediately the compact is known to cause eye problems.

Also the foam could be the immediate problem so do what spencer and breeze suggested too.

removed the fucking pot(sory for language), hate myself for putting my animals at risk, all i wanted to do was to make a natural terrarium as possible. So retarded thing :( .hope the eye prob will get better, i called the vet. and they said that they couldnt do anymore than what i can do. Long showers and hope for the best!

Wish Melonia and her eggs luck!

i will try to change lights, just that i need to find a ramp. WONT buy exo terras ramps, they are freakin expensive here in sweden

didnt understand

but here is a photo of her eyes and how i removed it.

i think right eye is more worse than the left.

First one is left eye, second is right eye.

to get light tubes in there :p or how you call them :p

Perhaps you mean the lamp fixtures, in which the linear light tube bulbs are put? You may be able to find inexpensive ones at a home improvement store. I think the ones I use were intended to be put in under kitchen counters. the fixtures were only $10 each. Make sure you remove any plastic or glass between the light and the cage.

What are you providing as the egg laying container? It seems she is not liking it, for some reason, if she is trying to digg in foam instead?

She has already dug in the sand container , and then she dug in the foam.
I think its because it was infront of the glass front ! . So i put it behind the big citrus tree, with blankets covering it. So hopefully she will lay them there tomorrow when there is no traffic from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon

Yeah those are what i mean, i got net so the rays will get trough!
Ok great, hopefully they will cost as much as in the US.

GO OBAMA!

How deep is your laying container. They need at least 10" of sand or dirt to lay in and big enough around to turn. If she is trying to go deeper then maybe your container is too small. Mine liked to dig down then in, making an L shaped hole. They then laid in the _ part of the L. Always they went for the bottom.

Maybe try another vet? I recently had eye problems with my cham and the vet did a lot more than I could do. He injected yellow dye that binds to foreign material or cuts in eye and looked at the eye with microscopic lens. When he found a small abrasion he actually put my mean cham to sleep so he could flush out the entire eye turret. He sent me home with antibiotic drops (neomycin sulfate) that worked like a charm after about 1 week of using three times per day.

If I were you Id would turn off that compact bulb now. Leaving it on puts her at risk. Also get her a suitable place to dig. Is the mix right.... 1/2 sand 1/2 peat moss?

dont have another rep vet here... srry. She seems to be better with her eyes , but her worse eye is still swollen.

Ok, i got to a specialist living in Spain haha XD and she said that i needed to get a buttonpin (a pin that injects water into her eyelid)
So i couldnt do this at home, so needed to go to the nearest vet so i could get help with this.

Prob. is that no vet nearby accepts reptiles -.-

How is your cham doing? Did you turn off the compact uvb bulb? I really think that specific bulb is the main cause for the eye problem...

As for an immediate solution to the eyes...you could go to the store and buy a normal saline eye drop.....ones with no additives and use that....

Get it right up to her eye and spray it till her eye kinda puffs up. Should clear it out if anything is in there. After that...put her for a steam near the shower for a good 20 mins. This way she can flush the remaining stuff out her eye.

Turn that light off!
