Hello all, I am interested in possibly breeding my first panther chameleon in the near future. I was thinking maybe it would be possible to just have my male breed with someone else's female? If anyone has any interest or thoughts on this please let me know. If people were interested would it be weird if I asked to maybe keep 1-5 of the eggs just so that I can "practice" taking care of the eggs on a much smaller scale than a full clutch? I'd love to hear what you all think!

That's a good idea. You could ask around and see if there's anyone close to you with a female they would like to breed.

that's actually a very normal thing to do.

You just have to find a person near you willing to do that.


Im currently doing the same thing, I borrowed someones male to breed with my female, and will be returning him as soon as she lays.

how can you tell if the eggs are fertilized after breeding them? Do they lay immediately after mating or within a day? Don't females lay eggs anyway and how do you tell if they are fertile or just regular egg discharge
