wondering about peoples expiriences with different sorts of egg laying media. I've used potted plants, plain soil & sand. all seem to have pros & cons. what are your thoughts? Jim
I've found sand to be hard on the females toes & snout.. really abrasive. have you ever noticed this? but yea, definately cleaner than soil. not stuck all over the eggs
I bought Freya mid April (was sold a male but soon learned that "Alfie" was female, hence Freya. I was advised he/she was 12 weeks, hatched 15th Jan. So I reckon it was time to upgrade her to her new home, as I've been reading on here that females panther chams can become sexually mature from 5 months and it's advisable to put in the egg bin. So I've moved her up to a large viv, got the bucket (12" deep, 10" wide), and bough play sand which I've washed. Now I hear mixed things re egg laying medium. Some say play sand alone, some say organic soil, and some say mixed, so I've got both. Advice please??
