Ebenezer dark and stressed since vet visit

Hi everyone, long time no post!

Monday, I stopped by the vet because I sensed Ebenezer having parasites. I brought in a turd from a few days prior. For probably the past 2 years (he's 4) he's had eye problems, always gets boogers and crusties in them. I've brought him to the vet about this and she says there's nothing she can do other than flush them out. I put terramycin in them, squirt saline in them, and let him hang out in the shower to hydrate his eyes. Lately both of his eyes have been acting up. The right one is usually milky but he can see out of it, the left one is perfect but there's a big glob in it that he REFUSES to let me help him get out. He usually lets me put a wet Q-tip in there and get it out but not this time. He got really skinny and dehydrated out of nowhere because he stopped eating and I had to force him to drink. He smelled musky and has gotten weaker. The last thing (day before) I went in, he formed an abscess on his head. When he went into the vet he was still blue, in fact, I'll attach a picture of him in the waiting room.

-Vet diagnosed a severe bacterial infection in his mouth. She prescribed .02mm of Baytril daily for 10 days.
-She also told me the poop didn't have anything in it but she thinks because it was too old, so she gave him an injection for parasites (not sure what it is called because she didn't charge me for it)
-Ebenezer refused to let her get out the booger as well so she told me to keep hydrating his eye and hopefully once he gets stronger he'll be able to push it out.

When he came out of the back with her, he was dark and stressed beyond belief (no wonder, poking and prodding and forcing his mouth open to take Baytril) I figured he would brighten up once he was left in his tree and no one was bothering him. It's been 3 days and he's still dark as ever. Does anyone know if whatever she gave him for the parasites makes them dark while it's working? Or if Baytril makes them dark? I've used Baytril in the past and I don't remember him looking like this. I know it's important to keep them very hydrated while he's taking Baytril, which sucks because he's been so stubborn with drinking. I do end up getting water in his mouth with a syringe and he drinks once he's started. I bought unflavored pedialyte and deluted it and have been giving that to him with his water. He's been eating decent lately but I'm force feeding him since he can't see well. I bolded the question in my story. I'm just so concerned with my little boy. I have always taken such good care of him, I've had him since he was 4 months old and he's definitely holding on and trying to stay alive. I just feel so bad for him right now. Any help or tips or anythingggg would be loved.

Sara

Hi Sara, my chams never get dark from vet visits and I've never read about one staying dark for days. Don't think it could be caused by his meds either. I can remember you posting in the past about Ebenezer's eye problems and if your vets has not been able to clear them up I would highly recommend a different vet. I know there's a good eye doctor there in Tampa at the specialty clinic. I can remember Chris Anderson taking his female parson there.

I go to Tracy Anderson in Palm Harbor. Julirs recommended me to her and that is where she would bring her chams. I know there's a Dr. Alfonso in Orlando. Maybe I can bring him there. I know there's a thread somewhere in here about chameleon vets by state, I'll check it out. I don't mind a drive at all. I want my boy okay. He's a little brown and green turd right now. I miss his pretty blues :(

Here's that thread about the vets. Read all the post and not the links.
