From my experience chameleons will eat plants to maintain hydration as well as just getting a tasty snack. My veil's diet consists of regular feeding of misted veggies and leaves. He loves them. Chameleons, ( Some species , and more importantly some individuals) like plants to eat. its normal.

Dracaena is fine for them to eat, mine does it alot and he's fine. Pothos is also a favorite munch for chams. What species do you have?

I also have a veiled. shes about maybe 6 months since i got her. and i didnt know that some would eat the plants as well. i was told they were just insectivores, so it came as a shock to me when i saw her pretty much hanging from one of the plants just to tear a piece off.
