eating leafs?

So I have caught my baby panther chewing on some of the leafs of my ficus tree. Is that normal?

I read somewhere that it is normal I believe something about another way to get water..

might want to give it some hibiscus or another less toxic plant for it to nibble upon.
I would also change and augment my cricket gutload

yah normally its somthing veileds do. Its a tool they have developed to help get water when theres nothing to drink in thier environment. Thier naturally froma dryer habitat.My veiled is ALWAYS eating leaves of his pothos.

Some panthers will try to eat wood, bark or sticks just so you know ahead of time. When panthers get older they do not really try for either any more. Maybe they are just curious or confused.

Eating leaves is OK....

Panthers do eat leaves.....some locales more than others. My babies tend to do it when they run out of crickets in the cage. They will chew on the leaves until I throw some more in. Does your little girl have crickets in her cage when she is doing this? If so, then it may be a nutrional thing. What gut load do you use for your crickets?

I keep a steady supply of crickets in her cage all the time. I have been told that when they are young to let them eat as much as they want, and to start limiting it to 12-15 crickets a day when they are older.

As to the gut load, i threw the package materal out, but it the green cubes. I am acutally on my way to the pet store where I bought it. Ill look at it when I am there and let you know the name of it.
