Hi, we have just got a veiled Chameleon that is just under a year old and i am not sure if its eating properly. I haven't seen it eat any crickets or locusts i put in,but as soon as i put mealworms in,it eats them straight away, should i not give it any worms till i know its eating the crickets and locusts?

Mealworms are like a cheeseburger (high in fat) so it's not good to be used as a staple feeder but more of a treat. Maybe try roaches or silkworms as they are much better for your chams diet. I also use super worms just to mix it up a little from time to time.

Some use super worms as a staple food. I feed my 16 month old panther crickets, roaches, supers, hornworms, and silk worms when I can find them. Crickets, supers and hornworms is his main food source.
