dying nosy be panther?

I have a nosey be panther who is almost 3 years old now. I've had him since he was 3 months old.
i finally bought a female panther who is 3 months old
The male panther saw her and turned colors i have never seen him turn before.
I moved the female to another location because i learned he was stressed.
now he is dull and not eating. I did not know the panther would be depressed since the female is only a baby.
I'm worried about my male panther not eating and sleeping during the day.
around his nose is white and his eyes are light. I hope he does not die. I feel horrible he is my 1st chameleon and I hope i can save him.
Is there anything I can do to save him?:(

Can you fill out the how to ask for help form? Sleeping during the day is not good, do you have a vet you can take him to?

There is a sticky at the top of this "Health Clinic" that gives you this information for future reference. But fill this form out, it would help out a lot!

Here is some recommended information to include when asking for help in the health clinic forum. By providing this information, you will receive more accurate and beneficial responses. It might not be necessary to answer all these questions, but the more you provide the better. Please remember that even the most knowledgeable person can only guess at what your problem may be. Only an experienced reptile veterinarian who can directly examine your animal can give a true diagnosis of your chameleon's health.

Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

Most likely a sperm plug, but I am surprised you have never seen them before allot of males start depositing them around 6 months old even when there is no female present.

Let us know what the Vet says. Good luck!

that would make sense! thanks
and here is a pic i just took of him
im not sure why he has white around his nose.
he is not eating, very slow, and closing his eyes.

and this established within just a few days.
i will take him in before he gets worst.
thanks you guys for replying
i appreciate it

No, the new one is a very healthy 3month old. She's in a separate cage
she eats a lot and is very happy. My male is depressed because i was teasing him quoted the exotic reptile store. I'm glad i told the lady at the pet store. she was the one who told me to remove her from the room.
I feel very bad for my male. i didn't think he would get affected by the 3month old panther. I just hope I can save him in time. he has stopped eating. I'm wondering if i should buy a female and mate him right away if that would make him the happy beautiful nosy be he was. I'm still going to take him to the vet. He never had problems before and i'm very bummed

I don't think that your male would be acting this way (closing his eyes, moving slowly, not eating from seeing the female. If it had been a male he saw it might be different.

Hopefully the vet will know what's going on.

No, he's not going to get better just from mating with something, this sounds like some underlying condition that happened to be coincidence with the meeting, or something transmitted from your new girl (probably through your hands or shared supplies). The vet will be able to tell you.

Good luck! He's beautiful, hopefully he'll be back to his healthy self soon.

hmm... now that you mention it the newest thing i did
was i bought him a longer uv light. i gave his 16" to the female
and got him a longer one. i'm now wondering if this has anything to do with it.
The earliest i can take him to the vet is Wednesday because of school and work. I hope that is not too late

its a R-Zilla t8 flourescent bulb that i bought from petco.. its 24" long 17 watt bulb..
Howdy,

Remove the R-Zilla T-8. A looooong story short, (if it is the R-Zilla model that we're used to hearing about) these are know to cause exactly what you've described... and worse...:(:(:(. You can search R-Zilla on this site and read the horror stories. He should fully recover within a few days . Use a ZooMed Reptisun 5.0 LINEAR tube of any length. Try LLL reptile online for good deals on that tube. What part of the world are you located?

The worst offenders were the original R-Zilla Desert series 50 in their T-5 package. They reformulated the phosphor to correct the problem but the final results of independent testing have not been put on the UVGuide UK site yet to confirm their safety and effectiveness.

I will change his light. :)
Thanks for notifying me. I have used it for a week now.
How long would you think it would take him to re- cooperate?
His behavior completely changed. I was wondering why he was getting white spots on his face. He stopped eating to. I thought he was depressed that he couldn't mate with the 3 month old.

Howdy,

Assuming that the R-Zilla is the problem, you should see improvement within a day or two and he should be back to normal within 3-5 days. If you don't see any change by Tuesday afternoon, go to plan B and see a vet.

What part of the world are you located? A State is close enough if you are concerned about privacy. It helps us sort out Plan B and maybe C .

true and the vet is kinda pricy since I am a college student
thanks for your help i appreciate it
whittier, LA
I have a specialist in mind, kinda far but i'm sure it'll be worth the drive

wat about the R Zilla T-5 (tropical series 25) 20" set up? my bro is currently using this set up with his mutil breed panther?

OH and OP! i know wat happened, it happened to me, but he got over it within a few hours after gettin him away from her...i had my BB ambilobe near my bros MUTT (like 5 breeds in one) and he fliped a wig! lighting all up like a damn kaliedascope! but as i said he got right back his normal self a couple hours later
