Since I've had my sub-adult male Ambanjo, he's been a beautiful pooper.

I'm feedng him an average of 10-12 dusted/gut-loaded crickets per day, so I would expect nothing less of him.

He has great color, very active, drinks regularly (from mister and from spray bottle) and shows NO SIGNS of anything but "normal".

Yesterday, I noticed a couple of small white "droppings" on one of his climbing vines, but didn't see it until after the mister had come on and ruined the looks.

I'm talking small, the size of a 1/4 grain of rice.

Looking through the leaves, I found a couple other small white clumps, same size. They have no substance to them, and I just found another beautiful fresh poop, regular size, oblong and brown with white urate.

Should I be concerned or just chalk it up to the dusted crickets he is inhaling?

I posted this yeaterday, and although a lot of you viewed it, there were no responses. I was really hoping to hear back from some of the seasoned members:

I've not seen any additional white clumps since this post. He is doing his usual "stuff" and acting like he is KING of the CAGE.

Sounds weird to me, but just a thought here, he may be getting rid of the excess water he is intaking. Not really sure though just an idea

Sounds like you're referring to "sperm plugs"! Your lil boy is growing up! :p :D

***edit- are they "white" or "opaque", you know, like sperm looking??

Thanks for this reply.

Whatever is was, he is no longer producing/pooping it. Nothing in the cage since I posted this yesterday.

Would an unsually large bulbous area at the base of his vent where the tail starts be related to sperm accumulation?

OMG! Maybe he's becoming a MAN'ther...

I don't notice the plugs everyday, but it's fairly frequent!

You folks are already making me feel better...

If this IS sperm, does this equate with the slight swelling (almost like a enlongated bulge) where the tail joins the body, close to the vent?

This is not alway noticeable, which leads me to think that sperm is produced "occasionally" ???

Is there A Dr. RUTH in here? LOL
