Dumbest Question Ever!

Hello everyone!

I'm wondering how we pronounce the different locales.

I own an Ambanja and I've always pronounced it Am-ban-ha

But I've also heard it as Am-ban-jaw

What's correct?

My other pronunciations have been:

Nosy Be:
Nosee Bee

Nosy Faly:
Nosee Fall-ee

Ambilobe:
Am-bill-lobe

Nosy Mitsio:
Nosee Mitt-see-oh

Tamatave:
Tam-ah-tayv

Sambava:
Sam-bah-vah

There are two official languages of Madagascar; Malagasy and French. French because Maddy was an old colony of France and the French heavily influenced certain names. Despite what you hear from 'breeders' at shows these are the proper pronunciations.

Ambilobe = Am-bee-low-bay
Nosy Be = Naw-see Bay
Nosy Faly = Naw-see Fah-lee
Ambanja = Am-ban-jah
