Dubia Questions

Okay so recently there has been a lot of threads on separating dubias and what not. Is it really necessary to separate the sizes often or is that just if you're trying to make them breed. Also how often should you clean the container?
Thanks! :)

I usually wait around 3 or 4 months before cleaning out my tubs. As long as you dont leave veggies or other stuff that can mold over they dont require cleaning very often. I use a dish to feed and just clean that out a couple times a week.

I concur.

Also, I dont separate them very often. It does not seem to effect them at all to be all together.

The nymphs actually eat the old molts and such, so they help to keep it clean and tidy.

I clean cricket bins almost everyday, the dubias can go months and be ok.

I'm still new to dubias but i belive seperating them is to make the feedable size easier to access and or making room in the breeding area when ur population gets high!

I agree with the other posts. Separating is if you want to have easy access to different sizes. Again, like others said, you can go a few months without cleaning. The nymphs will eat the molts and feces too.
