Dubia Escapee

Poor Rango was confused as to why I was poking the tongs at him… a roach had somehow escaped his bowl as I was feeding him and decided to crawl onto his face 😂 right in his blind spot, too!

These photos certainly do a lot of justice for dubias. Look how totally cute it looks up there!
I wasn't crazy about bugs for a while, but getting an expanded diet for my scaly darlings really made me tolerant of the little crawlies.
Having chameleons and other insectivores has definitely changed my perspective about many bugs. My sister finally learned that I have a colony of feeder roaches and looks at me like I’m crazy when I compare the wild roaches as being disgusting and not at all like MY roaches. The looks she gives me when I tell her about my feeder breeding projects are also just priceless. 😂 We do still agree that palmetto bugs and lubbers are just gross and icky scary things…and big hairy spiders too.

I’m at the my bugs are clean bugs so totally accepted any bugs I breed.🤣 I’m working on accepting the wild ones, they still give me the heeby jeebies sometimes.

Total boss move on the Dubias part, can you imagine riding a creature 100x the size of you? 😂😂😂
Shadow of the Colossus music starts playing

See, they feeder buggies are in their own little habitats where you interact with them on your own terms.
Random bug flying outside that has the potential to bite or poke you?
Well, not as loveable, I'm afraid 😅
