Dubia defensive smell

When i pick up one of my dubias i notice they excrete a liquid that smells weird my chameleons wont touch them i am wondering if they dont taste good but am not going to taste test lol my question Is this normal for dubias todo this and if so is there a nonpest type that dont?

They all do this, however I've never smelled anything from my dubias. Orange heads do that though. Dubia is probably the least smelly by a long shot and easiest to deal with.

They do smell when you bother with them, but I haven't had any chameleons reject them because of that.
