dubia colony

so i recently got 250 dubia nymphs and i put em in a pretty large bin. i put egg cartons in there as well. as for the food i was offering: bananas and oranges and lettuce. now im not sure how often they eat but its been a few days and nothing's changed and the fruits have already molded so i took those out and added some fresh ones. arent roaches supposed to like rip apart whatever stuff i put in there? plus some have died off and i see some on this back and couldnt flip over. i put the bin in my storage in the backyard so its always dark cause i heard they like the dark. but yeah any suggestions?

do you have a heat mat? they love the heat.

i do have a heat mat but i dont have any outlets in the storage. its the only place i can put them. my fam dont want non of those in the house so...yeah. i just rely on the heat from the sun that incubates the storage, if you know what i mean lol. but at night it does get pretty chilly so. could it be that it's not hot enough so they're not as active?
