I bought a chameleon about six months ago. It was purchased at 9wks from a breeder who had raised both male and female chameleons of her own. The breeder sold me a FEMALE chameleon; who had no visible signs of tarsal spurs and had a short casque. Somewhere in the 12-20 wk range, I took her to a reptile expert friend of mine and he confirmed that she indeed was female, still a small casque and no formed tarsal spurs. Fast forward to about 33 wks, my little lady lizard is sporting a very masculine casque, and now at 35 wks, shes growing what look to be tarsal spurs on her hind feet. (She's also been VERY moody the last two weeks; I open her enclosure to put worms in her feeding dish, and she instantly hisses, hides, and sits in a defensive position with her mouth wide open
