i just made a home made dripper system and i was wondering how much an hour or even a minute it should drip?

i believe the rule of thumb is about one drop per second...

I like mine to drip two or three drops a second in the morning, but this slows to about a drip a second half an hour later as the water level/pressure drops.
When I fill it again late afternoon I turn it down to a slower drip from the start.
I should guess a lot depends on how much movement your chameleon needs to see to be stimulated into drinking, how much it relies on the dripper vs misting, whether you are dripping soley for the chameleon to drink from or also for increased humidity, and I suppose the volume of the collection pan if you dont have a fancy drainage system (you dont want a pan to overflow before you get back)etc.

yes! but im sure sandra would also agree atleast two times a day a generous misting of atleast five minutes at a time. gives them an opportunity to clean their eyes and usually will stimulate drinking...

well im just setting my enclousure up now and i don't think im going to use a substrate becuase everyone says that its not goood

I mist once to three times a day, between 2 and 10 minutes per session. My ambient humidity is satisfactory, so I need not mist a whole heck of a lot. Mine dont need extra stimulation to drink every morning (they have the routine down and drink direct from the drippers immediately). I think erring on the side of too much misting is better than insufficient misting - just make sure perches and things dry out between.
My home built cages have a flat wood floor (painted), often with papertoweling, and there is a little plastic catch pan to collect extra drips

I built my own dripper system, I turn it on in the morning when the lights go on, on slow steady drip, it drips for around 5 n half hours. I refill it again just before it runs out in the afternoon, and switch it off at lights out when i refill it for the next morning. Im working on designing a larger resevoir to save work.
I still mist once or twice a day, especially on hot days, he seems to enjoy it on warmer days. He drinks directly from the dripper.
I use live hibiscus plants, rotated. I simply put the saturated one outside in the hot sun, it gets bone dry before its used again, and wont becoe saturated for several days, after which I simply soak any water from the pot tray with bone dry sponges for the next two days till I switch the plants.
There is never much water for crix etc to drown in.
Im working on a better drainage system and perhaps a garden tap timer aswell.
