yeah that was a worry but he really self regulates very well. Its been light this for a couple weeks now i watch him thru the day and hes always on the move between the skyway and the main cage ill look and hes just chillin under the uvb go look and hour later hes climbing around the sky. I also moved his uvb to where it the sky way gets some light where it connects.good job. I would add UVB over the branches that you have coming off into the other sections as well. He may choose to spend more of his time there so you have to make sure that UVB is there as well.
the fact he sits and chills under his uvb for hours of the day is plenty of reason he doesnt nor will he get mbs just bc his skyway doesnt have a uvb light i apricate the worry. Like he doesnt need to be exposed 24/7 while his light are on to uvb, hes like a battery when he gets charged up on the uvb he does on about his day then when he wants more i watch him make his way back to his lightsWell keep a close eye on it... chams that develop MBD you can not physically see until it is too late and they have weak brittle bones without even showing the physical bowing of the limbs. Once a limb starts to bow there is no correcting it. A fall for a healthy cham that has full coverage UVB, they can come back from but a fall for a cham with MBD they will break bones.
Your response came off defensive... You posted "Share your thoughts. I took 2 ( 2x2x4) cages and made a skyway off his original cage. He loves it so much."the fact he sits and chills under his uvb for hours of the day is plenty of reason he doesnt nor will he get mbs just bc his skyway doesnt have a uvb light i apricate the worry. This will be my last post in your thread. Honestly I do not feel like you want feedback. I was not once rude to you. I was pointing out a potential issue. You are new to the hobby.... No they do not need UVB 24/7. 12 hours of lights on only. BUT if a chameleon is given the opportunity for an area they like better they can decide to spend most of their time there even if it is not actually beneficial for them. You will see this with people that will free range chameleons. UVB for their set ups have to be on point to ensure plenty of areas that they can get correct UVI levels. You will also see this with cage set ups that are right in front of the window. The cham will spend its time right up against the window trying to get to the sun and be outside of all UVB exposure. This leads to MBD developing without a keeper even realizing.okay didnt mean for it to sound defensive but i read your first comment and i replied with a answer that i felt was just and that would clear up why i didnt have a uvb then you want to hit me with a Well keep a close eye on it...man i just said i watch him through the day that comment just felt as if i dont know what im doing making it sound like if i dont put a uvb light there im going to cause him health issue which is wrong. just not correct.
