Drippers

What does everybody here use for drippers? I was gonna buy one for every cage today but the big drippers get pretty crappy reviews. Does anybody know of an effective quality dripper or a DIY dripper that doesn't look like crap? Appearance is a big deal to me as I'm a bit OCD. Thanks for any input.

I don't use drippers....they can be a pain to adjust and not all chams use them reliably. I prefer hand spraying (warm water on the foliage, not directly on the cham), or teaching my chams to drink directly from a syringe. Many will learn this and its a great way to spend time with them. If you use an auto misting system this can be pretty trouble-free too.

I wouldn't worry about a dripper TBH. I've never seen my Panthers touch one. Just have it mist longer if you're worried about hydration. And feed some hornworms. The only animal I think I'd use a dripper for would be a Parsons. I've heard of some chams using them, but overall probably more hassle than it's worth

wonder if anyone has used a pump with a hose before to have controlled dripping times, similar to a mister

Like I said, I have a mist king, i just wanted to be sure they had access to water more often than just when the mister goes off. I think I'll probably just make a big one out of a five gallon bucket and plumb it to all the enclosures. If they wanna drink they can, if not, it'll just go down the drain. Thanks for the replies folks.

Little\Big Drippers aren't so bad. Inexpensive as well. I haven't had any issues with mine. Works well.

I got a second hand dripper system that is run by what looks like an aquarium pump. The previous owner used it to drip into three cages at once. I'm planning on using it to drip into a large outdoor enclosure just to boost humidity a bit. If I get a chance I will photograph the parts and let you know how it works once I get it running.

Thanks guys for all the input. I always appreciate the experience of others. I think not utilizing other experiences as a reference or even as a tool is foolish. I should be finally acquiring my chams in the next week or two. It was gonna be this week, but due to a severe infection in my leg and now the shingles due to my weakened immune system, I'm gonna have to put it all on hold a couple more weeks. I'll just have to keep talking to you all to get my fix. Thanks again!

I have an automated misting system set on timers. But I do also place a big dripper on top of the cage everyday so there is always some drops landing on leaves below. Never actually see him drink from it but oh well lol

Here are the parts for the dripper I inherited. The "aqua lifter" pushes water up from a reservoir to the three way splitter that allows you to set a drip rate. I'm still in the process of setting it up. The previous owner used it to drip into three different cages.

Used that same pump for my SW auto top off. Just looking at it the other day wondering if it could be used for something like this. Now I know! Thanks for posting

Plastic containers that have a tiny tiny hole drilled in the bottom....so sophisticated.(not)....easy to clean...each to unclog...can use regular tap water that has sat out overnight.

I knew the aquarium keepers would know what this is. It says it will lift water 30". I plan on going almost twice that but I don't need the 3-1/2 gal/hr rate it's supposed to deliver. I have to buy more tubing before I can hook it up. I may have to revise my plan.
I want the reservoir to be in the base of my outdoor cage and then run up and drip from the top about 4+ feet above it.
