Drip vines? In a free range?

Ok so I was wondering if i could make a diy drip vine irrigation system for my free range as misting is kinda a bad idea as it gets on the wall and I don't want to ruin the paint

As I described on the other thread, a dripper won't do much if anything to provide the correct level of air humidity your cham needs in your setup. Unless you raise the humidity level of the entire room (a bad idea for obvious reasons), he's going to get dehydrated. A free range can work, but you will need to find a way to mist it very thoroughly every day and keep track of the humidity carefully. It just won't work for him otherwise.

You can protect the walls and furniture by confining the mist to one area with shower curtains.

He isn't always in his free range I'm just trying to figure out how to get him water in the free range lol he has a reptibreeze screen cage for when he's not out

If he's getting hydrated enough while in his cage maybe you don't need to worry about water while he's free ranging. So, find out how well the cage setup is staying at the right humidity level... you need that hygrometer either way.

Be careful....cheap humidity gauges can also be INACCURATE humidity gauges! If they are not accurate you can get into trouble before you realize it. Digital or electronic gauges are generally are more accurate than the little dial type (analog) gauges you will find at most pet shops. The stick on strips are terrible.

I have a thermometer that is digital it has a sensor that I secured to the highest basking point and the cord is small enough that I can shut the door on it and the box with the screen is outside of the cage I like this because it is uninvasive are there kinds similar to this?

I think there are humidity gauges with probes (which is what your thermometer does) exist, but I'm not certain. I use a hand held gauge with an on/off switch because I can move the gauge anywhere to measure the moisture at that spot. Also, I think leaving a humidity gauge in the moist cage all the time can affect its accuracy. The gauge has to have an absorbing surface somewhere (like a little sponge) in order to register the level of moisture. If it sits saturated all the time the gauge may not detect a drop in humidity as well until the sponge dries out completely. Check with a supplier such as Josh's Frogs. They have good stuff for humidity-loving herps. This is a very important thing to have, so best not to scrimp.
