Drinking!!!

My three year old veiled hates when i mist his enviroment hates when give him showers on his huge ficus tree and i never ever see him drink. The other day when I needed to water my plants i was watering the hanging pothos I noticed him jolt right for the water when it was pouring from the cup and he struck the water coming from the spout a few times. Its just a mild concern at this point when he hates to get watered but then wants it bad when he sees running water. Any suggestions advice just give me what you got! :)

Dripper Anyone?

Sounds to me like you need to set up a dripper or a drip system that will provide water but not get him wet if he doesn't want to. My little girl is pretty good about drinking when I take her out to sun and can really get everything wet, so I haven't set one up yet. There are several threads in the past few months that talk about drip systems. I would do a search and check them out.

It's normal for them to drink dripping or slow running water. You really need to some how set up a drip for him.

This is often the problem with free-range setups. It can be far more difficult to provide adequate husbandry to your cham than in conventional enclosures.

How long have you had the cham?

well the only problem is i have a free range and a dripper system is almost not an option.....:(

Hi,

I set up a free roam and use shelf hooks or shelf brackets you can find at hardware stores.

Just mount them on the wall, and grab a little dripper...the big dripper seemed to be too heavy to mount on their securly but you can experiment. ( I probably should have tried to find a wall stud )

And you can just hang the dripper and have the tube drip into the plant.

I use a turkey baster to suck out the water from the plant saucer every other day or so. They also have hooks you can screw into your ceiling and you can hang one from there. I hope this might work for you.
