Drilling Holes?

I want to create a draining system but I do not have a drill to drill holes. Any other methods?

You could always go with a drip easy system

If you have a tote or bucket or something under the cage, a hammer and nail will create a hole also if you dont have a drill, just remove the nail after..

the draining system will not fit for the cage that I have. They are made for that company's cages which have dimensions of their own. Do you have any links for any drainage system ideas? I was thinking that the nail would just crack the pvc bottom.

I don't have any others off hand. Just google under cage drainage/drip trays. There are all kinds and different sizes.

It would depend on what type of plastic the bottom is whether it would crack or not. If it's expanded foam PVC it will not crack. If it's regular PVC it's most likely will.

What kind of floor do you have to put holes in?

If you have a Reptibreeze, those have thin plastic floors.
You can use a Xacto hobbie knife with a pointed blade to make the holes.

Heat the plastic up with a hairdryer to make it soft, then bore the holes.

Maybe its time to invest in some tools? You will use them your entire life and if you will find infinite uses for them. Save yourself money by doing things yourself, or ask a handy friend for some help. Eventually become the handy friend.

Can you borrow a drill? A heated nail will make a hole, but it can also crack the plastic...and you'd need to put in a lot of holes probably. A larger size drill bit will save you a lot of grief.

If you really can't do anything other than a heated nail or similar, one that that might help would be to tip your cage frame very slightly so the water pools in a corner. Then put your hole right there.
