hey guys, what sized dome fits a normal house light bulb best?

5 1/2" or 8 1/2" domes are most common.

The 8 1/2 inch ones would probably be better. The spread the heat out better and they don't tip over as easy as the smaller ones.

The 8.5 inch ones also expel a lot of brightness, which is beneficial for most chams. Definitely go with an 8.5 but since it does seem to disperse the heat more efficiently, you might wanna use a lower wattage bulb than usual. 100w for me was way too much, I use 60-75w for my 8.5" domes.
