Does this look like a happy chameleon?

Hey guys just interested in others input as far as my little guys happiness goes. Does he look happy as far as his posture and color? Not sure what else to look for. I just noticed he sits in this spot all the time! I see him roaming in the morning and before bed usually and I see him moving around on the weekends occasionally. But during the week when I get home from work this is him, in the same spot pretty much until lights out. Anything to worry about?

Forgot to post pics,sorry.

Definitely doesn't look "happy". But looks healthy. The fact he sits in one spot may have various reasons. Picture of entire cage?

I've had him for just under 2 weeks and in that time I've since raised his cage 10" and added more foliage on two separate occasions so it hasn't been the easiest transition for him I'm sure. Setup is 20x20x36 custom screen and wood enclosure. Reptisun 5.0, 60w heat bulb and 5000k led plant light. I use a pump mister 2x daily and more on the weekends. I also use a little dripper and a humidifer in the room to keep it nice for him. Humidity always 50-70%. Basking spot 85-90. He eats 10-12 crickets daily and hornworms on occasion. I use Repashy plus daily. Real schefflera plant and real pothos plant. Plenty of horizontal and vertical walkways of different widths to help strengthen grip. I clean out daily for left over water drained in plant trays and his droppings which by the way are fine. If I left anything out let me know, thanks.

the fact that he has grumpy face is pretty understandable then XD. It takes most chameleons a while to get used to small changes in their environment when in captivity even when they've been with you a while so he could take anywhere from a month or two to become more relaxed XD. No worries unless he starts actually acting ill

Definitely 4-5 months. I am surprised he doesn't have more bars/coloration showing yet, but he may just be a late bloomer. I wouldn't think even a 3 month old would have that much girth and size on them in general. 3 month and younger are so lanky. But he definitely is a late bloomer with colors and casque. I would expect him to start getting more defined within the next month or so. If he doesn't he may be younger and just a really fast grower... Did you choose him personally? were there other chameleons with him?

I did choose him personally actually, he was from a line of transluscents and i was told all 4 chams in the cage were roughly 2 months. I had them pull him out for me first because i liked how hearty he looked. And then HE just happened to be a HIM so i was sold. I posted a thread yesterday with your name on the title with more pictures and info of him actually lol.

Did you tag me in it? if you don't tag me it's not something that notifies me I don't think o_O I may have to hunt it down XD. Anyway since he was so much heartier he may have been the dominant of all the 4 and so is just a fast grower. So he may well be around 3 months. I will go find your thread ^^

I am a little bit confused as to why I don't have a tag that showed up in my box considering you tagged me in it? Maybe it just got lost in the many submissions I have XD. Anyway since Jannb said he is likely 3-4 months, I would agree with her. He probably sits around 3 months, she knows her veileds really well.

And the breeders could have been a few days off to a week depending on how good their record keeping is. So it depends *shrugs* Plus depending on where he shows his transluscense... (can't figure out how to spell that XD) anyway, I always see translucent individuals with pink feet and arms sometimes, some pink around their face. I have never seen it affect their colors otherwise maybe he's different? Do you have any pics of his sire?

I don't have a picture of his sire but 3 months wouldn't surprise me as know eggs hatch at differant times. This could have even just been a rough average age of them the breeder told him. As for transluscents I've read they tend to be a little more neon-ish in color even if just low-end but mostly still depends on genetic traits. I know for fact he is a low-end because he has very limited areas on him, 3 of his feet and a little behind one of his right arm. But as for color I agree with you, just not very much yet. Hopefully he just still needs a little more maturing to do

I would assume so, a lot of the males mature in different rates (not even growing related, there are a huge amount of late bloomers and fast movers as far as colors go in all species) so I expect after like a single shed he could start throwing some crazy colors.

Yeah I'm excited for the journey! Even after this shed he looks alot differant than when I brought him home. It's hard to see in the picture but on the middle of his body towards the bottom he's got a small bright turquoise color, so I hope that's a good sign for things to come.

Everything looks and sounds good to me. He looks healthy and as 'happy' as can be expected. Nothing to worry about at all :)

This made me chuckle a little - not at you, because it's not fun to stress over them - but my girl Opheila has a permanent frownie-face even when she is CLEARLY happy. We tease in our family (not in front of Ophelia, of course)... are you sad? or "Ophelia-happy"? they kinda look the same LOL Here's a pic of her happy :)
