Does this ever stop?

It doesn't really appear that you have enough branches and vines for climbing up higher in the cage, especially to bask. I think that is why he is climbing towards the light. I would try positioning one about a foot down below the basking areas and see if that does not eliminate the problem.

So you think I should add something higher than this?

you have such a beautiful cage but it's a little empty! it's not all about the temperatures there are also other things to consider! try to put more branches, vines and plants! give your cham more places to go, i'm sure he ll be a lot happier and will eventually stop doing that weird mesh climbing thing!it worked for my veiled! try it then let us know ! :)

I don't think his cage is that empty but I'm not sure. This is my first Cham so I'm still learning :) I will add more branches and see how he does.

You do have a really nice cage but I tend to think it is a bit bare as well. If you add a Pothos (or something similar) they grow quickly and are viney which you can then 'drape' over and around your vines. Chams need lots of plants and leaves and places to hide if they want. While your cage is beautiful, if it had more foliage your cham probably wouldn't climb the screen. Also, as mentioned raising the basking spot closer to the light will also help. Good luck and great job! :)

I actually have 2 Pothos plants in there at the bottom. Ill be adding more branches tomorrow :) thanks for the advice.

I'm new at this. However, it doesn't look like any of the branches are right under the light. Maybe a little closer, but directly under, not off to the side.

The bulb that is elevated is a 75w halogen. If I were to put a branch directly under it, his beautiful casque will burn. His basking temps are always perfect. I really think I just need more branches/plants..
